Or what you can do to desensitize yourself to your hair? Being a girl with semi-long hair, I wear a t-shirt (to cover my shoulders) and always make sure to sweep my hair behind me when I go to sleep. I could never stand having my hair anywhere near my face. Instead of tying it, you could try gathering it back and twisting it (updo style) as you put your head down...but not pinning it. This should probably keep it in place long enough for you to fall asleep. One of your female friends might be able to show you how to do this?
