I lost my keys so often in high school that my resident advisor (I attended a residential science and math high school) gave me a key chain I could attach to my clothing as a graduation present.

Once, I locked my **still-running car with the three-year-old inside it**. Ack! I'm happy to say that my clueless key days seem to have dwindled as I've gotten older--though strategic leaving of keys at home when not needed on outings probably also helps minimize my lost-key days. :-)
