Instead Of Nagging…

As many parents and partners know, nagging is of little use when you live with a visually minded person.  Especially one who has hyperlexia.  Maybe my husband noticed the Post Its I was starting to leave for myself?  He started to leave these around the kitchen:

But not the most useful for auditory-minded family members, alas, who can walk right past numerous notes while yakking on their cell phone.

Thanks for your comment on my blog!

I really like your husband’s idea. I’m going to suggest it to mine! I’m much more likely to remember something if I read it than if I hear it.

  2. Thanks for making a great point on using visual aids to get work done around the house.

This made me laugh. I was active duty Air Force for four years and I became known as the “sticky note queen” because my entire desk was nothing but various notes to myself on things that needed to be done or addressed. I hadn’t thought to apply that to my home life though. My husband would likely have to attach all the notes to my computer for me to even see them though!!! Thanks for another great article!
