About

Sandy (The Blogger)
My greatest loves are dogs, letters and words, food, and my husband, but not necessarily in that order. And dogs.
I have a BA in Psychology as well as M.S.Ed from the University of Pennsylvania and was previously an elementary and middle school teacher in the public school system.
As a young woman diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, I’ve experienced the struggles people on the spectrum face in education, employment, and personal life. My blog is about how I learn from these experiences and try to stay positive that we can make life better for autistic children and adults.
In addition to the autism, I live with a seizure disorder, auditory processing disorder, anisometropic amblyopia, and hemiplegic migraine. All of these cause sensory loss and impairment of function that is often invisible to other people. One of my passions is raising awareness of these invisible, often-ignored conditions and the small changes people can make that have a huge impact.
I enjoy working with the Autism Women’s Network as a board member and community outreach director. AWN is a truly unique way for women on the spectrum to find community, advocacy, and resources. I also consult with companies and provide training on how to accommodate autism in the mainstream.
Molly (The Dog With Spots)

Molly is an extremely social Bichon – Cavalier mix. Our motto is No Dog Left Behind, so Molly goes everywhere and has traveled pretty extensively including a few cross-country trips. She’s also a great running partner because her enthusiasm about running miles at a time without stopping is such a motivation for me.
